KCAH Evening at New Malden Baptist Church

Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness

New Malden Baptist Church is hosting an evening to explore how Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness is bringing hope and help to the homeless in our borough. All are invited to join them on Sunday 27th September from 5-6pm.

Joel Centre

The Joel Centre is holding a celebration of the life and work of the Joel community, at which there will be an opportunity to meet workers, volunteers and guests, as well as to hear more about their plans for phase 2 of their building work. The event will be held at St Peter’s Church, Norbiton, on Saturday 26th September, 7:30 – 9:30pm.

Summer Holidays

The summer holidays have begun

...which means that our usual children’s groups will be taking a break. As always, children of all ages are very welcome to stay in the main church services, but special activities have been arranged during the 9.30 service throughout August for those who wish to join in with them. Whatever you decide, do join us in the Lounge after the service for an ice lolly!

12th July is Unity Sunday! We’ll be celebrating together as one big church family with a United Service at 10am, followed by a musical interlude provided by Helena and Leandro Silvera, and a ‘bring & share’ picnic on the lawn, complete with a bouncy castle for the children.

Charity Auction and Dinner

Charity Auction and Dinner

Luke Wickings is organising a charity auction and dinner at Christ Church on the evening of Saturday 11th July to raise funds for the Umoja Street Child Trust who work with street children in Mombasa, Kenya. Tickets will be £20 with a minimum of £10 going straight to the trust. Contact Luke for more details and with offers of help – cooking, waiting tables, moving furniture etc. – and with offers of items for the auction (lukewickings@gmail.com).

Mercy Teete Invites You...

Mercy Teete invites supporters and anyone else interested to two events next weekend: On Saturday 30th May, a film called “The Whistleblower” will be shown in the lounge. The film, in cooperation with Act for Justice, is a drama about trafficking of women with the knowledge and assistance of the authorities during the Balkan wars in the ‘80s and ‘90s. It is not suitable for under-18s. Refreshments from 6.30pm, film starts at 7pm.

There will be a service of Holy Communion from 8pm on Thursday at St John’s New Malden, for any who would like to attend.
