The Importance of Being Eschatological
In 2013 Stephen wrote an article for the Bible Society’s quarterly journal The Bible in Transmission entitled ‘The Importance of Being Eschatological’. This argued that, despite clarity over the true nature of the Christian hope being available and accessible, a wilful and agenda driven refusal to engage with this is still present within the church. More positively, the article sought to show how greater clarity about the nature of the Christian hope is key to seeing effective progress in terms of pastoral care, church life and holistic mission.
