What's On for Women
Women’s Own is a group for older women meeting on Thursday mornings at Christ Church from 10.00 am. At its meetings, refreshments are enjoyed, news is shared, and there are hymns and prayers as well as Christian talks by visiting speakers. Once a term the group share a meal together. Women’s Own is led by Margaret Prior.
Connections is a group looking to appeal to younger and middle aged women, although it is open to all women. It meets at Christ Church on Wednesday mornings at 9.30 am. After some time altogether, members divide into groups which use a variety of different methods to study the Bible and learn more about following Jesus. Connections is led by Heather Perrin.
Eve'n'more - For young Mums and their pre-school children: time and space to meet up, chat and raise questions and issues about Christianity. Meeting fortnightly on Wednesday mornings from about 9.30 to 11am in the Vestry Hall. Contact Rev Helen Hancock to find out more.
Half Shares, a group for widows, meets on Tuesday afternoons once a month. It includes both members and non members of Christ Church and seeks to help those who are widowed find friendship and community. Speakers are invited to talk on various subjects before tea and biscuits followed by a Christian epilogue. Half Shares is led by Lily Locock.
